PRP Facelift & PRP Facial Rejuvenation
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is the key to our PRP facial rejuvenation therapy. Platelets are one of four components of blood. The others are white blood cells, red blood cells, and plasma.
PRP is plasma that has roughly five times the concentration of platelets in it compared to unaltered blood. It is created using blood drawn from your arm during the appointment. In order to separate the components of blood, our medical practitioners will load the vile into a centrifuge.
A centrifuge is a sophisticated machine that spins vials at high speeds to separate the contents of a sample by density. Since all components of blood have different densities, the centrifuge can effectively separate them and yield PRP.
Our Atlanta-area clinic relies on PRP in the facial rejuvenation treatment for several reasons. First, it comes from your own body, so there is no need to use potentially harmful chemicals. Secondly, it has been shown to be effective at promoting wound healing and tissue regrowth. Specifically, it is used to help injured athletes heal faster and is also highly effective when used for skin rejuvenation therapies.
Now that you know how PRP can unlock the key to facial rejuvenation, it is important to understand what to expect during your appointment. At Atlanta Innovative Medicine, we know that coming in for any medical procedure can be a bit intimidating. However, you will find that we have created a welcoming and friendly environment that will facilitate an enjoyable treatment session.
When you arrive at our clinic near Atlanta, Georgia, it is important that you are ready for a blood draw. The process will only take a few minutes, but it is an essential first step to creating PRP for your facial rejuvenation therapy. The best way to prepare for a blood draw is to eat a good meal and stay hydrated before your appointment.
Once the nurse has completed the blood draw, they will put the vial into the centrifuge. The device will take about 15-20 minutes to separate all components and yield PRP for your treatment. After the PRP is ready, the doctor will then commence with your chosen facial rejuvenation therapy. In total, your entire appointment should take less than one hour.
At Atlanta Innovative Medicine, we offer two different PRP facial rejuvenation treatment options. The two treatment options are PRP facials and PRP facelifts. If you are unsure which option is right for you, contact our experienced staff today and schedule a free consultation by calling 770.416.9995.
We can help you determine the ideal PRP facial therapy to meet your goals in as little as 15 minutes. Once you have settled on a treatment option, we will get to work scheduling your appointment according to your preference.
The first of our PRP face treatments is known as a PRP facial. During this procedure, our nurse practitioners will administer your PRP with a micro-needling pen. This device is minimally invasive and will cause only minor swelling or discomfort.
The PRP facial procedure, performed at our clinic nearby Atlanta, targets the entire face, including the cheeks, forehead, and chin. However, it does not include the lips or nose. Our experienced nurses will create “micro-injuries” with the needling pen while simultaneously injecting PRP.
The PRP treatment will trigger the release of elastin and collagen. These two essential compounds will immediately get to work repairing your skin.
Typically, patients will experience some redness for one to two days after a PRP facial. They may also experience some tightness and a mild stinging sensation, similar to a pinprick. However, these minor unpleasantries quickly subside.
Within one to two weeks, most patients see dramatic results. They usually experience tighter skin, an improved texture, and reduced lines. Their skin will continue to heal and peak at about two months post-PRP therapy.
Generally, we recommend that patients undergo four treatments over a four month period. Our professionals recommend a maintenance treatment every six months to a year thereafter.
The PRP facial is extremely popular, but it is not for everyone. If you are interested in increased results, then you may be more suited for our PRP facelift treatment. A PRP facelift is a more targeted procedure that is used to address significant aging and increased line and wrinkles. With a PRP facelift, the results of proper treatment can raise your cheekbones, fill in volume loss under your eyes, and sculpt your chin.
During this procedure, the nurse practitioner will administer subdermal PRP injections at targeted areas of the face. These injections will promote collagen growth. Typical areas for PRP subdermal injections are under the eyes, the cheeks, into forehead lines, and occasionally on the chin.
In addition to PRP, our team also uses a hyaluronic acid filler. This filler has a gel-like consistency and is a natural substance found in the body. It will “jumpstart” the process of repair and will add volume while the PRP builds up collagen. The filler will slowly metabolize over the course of a year.
Typically, our patients experience noticeable results within two months or less. The results from the initial treatment will generally last for around 12-18 months. We recommend another treatment roughly 12-18 months after, depending on how your body responds to the initial round. Since our PRP facelift procedure is more intensive than the PRP facial, your appointment will take about up to two hours from start to finish.
